Hello friends!

We made it to Guatemala a week ago!!

My team is joined up with another team and we are staying close to a town called Chichicastenango, our host family lives in the mountains.

Our host family has a servant’s heart and they have a ripple effect attitude to share what they know about the Lord with us along with their community.

They have a Kids Ministry here at their house 2 days a week. Two of the ways that I see our host family love on their community is through their faith in Jesus and hearts to share all that Jesus’ provides; which I see as amazing and inspiring.

We have an amazing view from our house!  l love that we have mountain weather averaging in the 50s at night and  getting up to 70s in the day. The sun feels so good!!

Our ride to town

As I embark on my 6th quarentine filled day, it has been a tough one. Not getting to help with Ministry or getting to go with them on the adventure day it it leaves me with many emotions. I’m learning that this trip is not all about getting all the cool pictures or getting to do every fun thing or always getting to help with Ministry, it is about sitting with the Lord listening to what He has for me, which has been very hard. I like being with people and being a part of what’s going on. But God is teaching me patiences and that I don’t have to be in the action all the time. I can stay behind and pray for them as they go and share the love of Jesus!

These are the girls I have be in quarantine with, they are amazing. I’ve been having great conversation with them and learning a lot from them.

Some verse that stuck out to me through this time.

Matthew 6:5 ” When you pray, don’t be like the hypocrites who love to pray publicly on the street corners and in the synagogues where everyone can see them. I tell you the truth, that is all the reward they will ever get.

John 16:33.                                                                                                     These things i have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, i have overcome the world.”

2 Timothy 1:7

For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and            self-discipline.

Thanks for taking the time to read!!

Thanks for all of yalls prays!

Love y’all

  1. Hey gwen, sorry to hear about the hang up. Can you tell us what’s holding y’all up? Sorry it’s taking me so long to write but I have a really lame excuse – I had to have someone show me how to get on your blog. D’oh! Got you covered in prayer but please let us know if you need anything in particular. In His service and for His glory!

  2. So glad that you are able to talk with the other girls that have to quarantine too. The Lord is so good to us and so kind when he teaches us new things. Glad that you are having a great time. Pictures look great.

  3. Hello Gwen!
Robert Chesser here (Jacob’s dad). Please know that we are praying for y’all’s healing and peace. I am praying that your down time would be rich in intimacy with the One that loves you more than we can imagine even though your body is not at 100%.
His grace is sufficient! His power is made perfect in your weakness!
